Secret Santa Anime Style

This year we bring to you a little humor for your holidays with staff members Andrew and Joe as they have the honor of picking gift for these anime characters...suckers!

by Andrew Chanthaphone and Joe Luscik

Christmas is a great time of year, but Chrismukkah is an even better time! Families come together and give gifts, and there is holiday cheer all around. What would happen, though, if anime characters gave each other gifts? Two of our staff members picked four of their favorite characters and swapped them with each other. Then, they each came up with a Chrismukkah gift that would best suit that character, and describe the reason they decided on that gift. Best of all, we made them wear a stupid Santa hat and take a picture with each gift that they picked.

Joe has the pleasure of going first, because he's the new kid on the block.

The first character I had to shop for was Mikura from Mezzo Forte and I decided she needed... well... you can see what I got for her, and the reason for this gift. And I think you probably have a good idea why I chose this for her too. It seems like something that she might need, and I made sure to get extra strength. With a new TV out and all, I wanted to be safe.

Up next was good ol' Jubei from Ninja Scroll. For those in the know, it isn't just Jubei who goes through a lot in his flick, but it's also his lucky hat. I personally love his hat and I hated to see it get so beaten up.

Third on my to-get-list was Echizen Ryoma, Prince of Tennis. Now being the Prince of Tennis is a hard thing. It takes a lot out of you. So what's the one thing that all aspiring tennis stars should drink? Why, none other than grape soda. So I decided to get Echizen grape soda so that he can keep up his Twista Serve!

The final person I had to shop for was Guts from Berserk. I felt that if there was one person that needed a warm, cute and fuzzy teddy bear, it was this man. He goes through some pretty harsh times to say the least, and if a huge purple Care Bear can't cheer him up, then I don't know what will.

And now it’s Andrew’s turn to fight his way through the crowds of holiday shoppers...

Joe picked out some interesting characters, and I had to think quite bit about what would be a great gift for each of them. First up on my list was Yuji from Blue Gender. Yuji is always crying, and in the first episode of Blue Gender, Yuji wet himself. So here you go Yuji, have some toilet paper! Enjoy and use it wisely.

With Yuji out of the way, the next character on my list is Robin from Witch Hunter Robin. For those who have not seen the show, her hairstyle is stunning. Well, what would be nicer for Robin to receive than a holiday haircut? Judging by the picture, maybe I need one too.

My third character was none other than Naruto. What is Naurto’s favorite thing in the whole world? Well, we know he likes Sakura, but nope, not her. It's ramen noodles, and so we give him his very own noodles, ready to cook at home.

The last and final character from Joe's list for me is the twenty-two year old, greatest teacher ever...Onizuka-sensei! This was not a hard choice at all, as he still attempts to lose his virginity and tell the world what a teacher he is. The only thing I could possibly give him is women's panties!

Joe and I hope that each anime character will enjoy their gifts as there is quite simply nothing funnier than public humiliation, especially when it involves some of our newer staff members. On that note, all of us at Animefringe would like to wish you and your family a Merry Chrismukkah, a joyful New Year and a holiday filled with anime cheer!
